The Gay Christian Network works to transform attitudes toward LGBTQ people and bring about a day when the Christian church is the biggest ally and defender of LGBTQ people. Through online support groups, film, radio, and respectful debate, they work to end prejudice and discrimination both inside and outside of the church, combat negative stereotypes about LGBTQ people, and support those who have been hurt by anti-LGBTQ attitudes. They also launched Gay Christian Answers, a YouTube series designed to answer common questions related to the Christian LGBTQ community.
Today, spend 100 seconds to support the Gay Christian Network’s important work.

Politicians and activists on both sides of the aisle have spoken out against religious-based requirements to enter the country. Last summer, @SpeakerPaulRyan tweeted: “A religious test for entering our country is not reflective of America’s fundamental values. I reject it.” Yet he seems to have forgotten about his commitment.

We’ve all been motivated by Muhammad Ali, entertained by Dave Chapelle, and inspired by Captain Humayun Khan. In addition to these well-known Muslim Americans, millions of Muslim American citizens around the country contribute to the fabric of our society as teachers, business professionals, elected officials, doctors, and more. Celebrate the #MuslimsofAmerica by watching The Institute for Social Policy and Understanding's video, “An America Without Muslims” and show that #TogetherWeMakeItGreat.
"No matter where you are from, we're glad you're our neighbor." Immanuel Mennonite Church, in Harrisonburg, VA inspired the country with this simple message. Their #WelcomeYourNeighbors signs display the message in Spanish, English, and Arabic, and have inspired hundreds to practice hospitality through #opendoors and #openhearts.
Today, join the movement by printing your own sign, ordering online, or picking one up locally and displaying it in your yard or window. Tag a neighbor to connect your whole community. A First 100 Ways team member - Areesa Somani - lives just minutes away from the Islamic Center of Eastside, WA, which was recently devastated by arson. This is not an isolated incident. America’s Muslim and Jewish communities in many major urban areas have experienced an increase in hate crimes. In defiance of these acts, the communities have come together in #SolidarityAgainstHate through joint campaigns, appearances, vigils, and other efforts.
Today, we ask YOU to support Areesa and her community by making a donation to ICOE through LaunchGood. There’s only a couple days day left for ICOE to raise the needed funds! Let’s help them meet their goal! Expand your horizons and become a true #CitizenOfTheWorld by learning about major religions practiced across America and the humankind.

-Musician Tom Smothers In today’s tense political climates, expressing your beliefs openly is one of the our most valuable and accessible forms of activism. Tell us what freedom of expression means to you by starting a facebook live video and tagging #first100ways The Trump administration recently released plans to significantly reduce spending on the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and to privatize the Corporation for Public broadcasting. The federal funding currently allocated for these programs makes up a minuscule portion of the federal budget (~0.02%), so eliminating this funding would do nothing to balance the budget while doing great harm to public discourse.
National Public Radio - a continuing source of excellent journalism and support for local art in each community - would be one of the programs hit hardest. From NPR’s donation site: “The loss of federal funding would undermine the stations' ability to pay NPR for programming, thereby weakening the institution.Elimination of federal funding would result in fewer programs, less journalism—especially local journalism—and eventually the loss of public radio stations, particularly in rural and economically distressed communities.” You can provide support for your local NPR station for as little as $5 / month as a sustaining member.
