Parks are often the epicenters of our communities, providing spaces to interact with nature, neighbors, and loved ones. Today, make plans to spend time at a local park.
If you can’t visit in person, look up Mayors for Parks and see if your mayor is part of the coalition. If she/he is not, contact their office and urge them to become a member.

Did you know that getting a library card is a powerful form of activism?
Public libraries will face a lot of political adversity in the years to come. Local politicians look at the number of the population vs. the number of library card holders when allocating resources. If the percentage of cardholders to the population isn't high, then they think, "why are our people being taxed for this service?" Today, “check out” your local library and commit to getting a card as an act of support. Educators often spend their own money to provide school supplies, fund projects, buy lunches, and to make their student’s lives better. @DonorsChoose gives local communities the opportunity to help out by donating directly to classrooms in need.
Step 1: Find a classroom project that inspires you and give as little as $1. Step 2: DonorsChoose purchases all requested items and ships them directly to the school. Step 3: Every donor gets a thank-you letter from the teacher, photos from the classroom, and a report of how each dollar was spent. Click here to find a classroom in need near you.
